What Are Subject Pronouns?
Subject pronouns are words we use instead of nouns when the pronoun is the subject of a sentence (the person or thing that does the action).
Example:

Anna works in a bank.
-
She works in a bank.
The pronoun she replaces the noun Anna.
In English, there are seven main subject pronouns.

How to Use Subject Pronouns
1. I
Use I when you talk about yourself.
Examples:

I work in a café.

I enjoy listening to music.
2. You
Use you when speaking to another person or a group.
Examples:
-
You look tired today.

You speak English very well.
Note: You can mean one person or many people.
3. He
Use he for a man or a boy.
Examples:
-
He drives a taxi.

He studies engineering.
4. She
Use she for a woman or a girl.
Examples:
-
She teaches math.
-
She loves cooking.
5. It
Use it for things, animals, weather, time, or ideas.
Examples:
-
It is very windy today.
-
My phone is new. It works perfectly.
6. We
Use we when talking about yourself and other people together.
Examples:
-
We live in the same building.
-
We are watching a movie.
7. They
Use they for two or more people, animals, or things.
Examples:
-
They play basketball after school.
-
They are my neighbors.
Subject Pronouns and Verbs
The verb often changes with different pronouns.
Examples:

I work every day.

He works every day.
-
They work every day.
Notice the -s with he / she / it in the present simple.
