1. Form

Affirmative: will be + verb-ing

  • I will be working at 9 a.m.

  • She will be studying tonight.

  • They will be travelling next month.

Negative: will not (won’t) be + verb-ing

  • I won’t be working tomorrow afternoon.

  • He won’t be driving during the storm.

  • We won’t be staying here for long.

Questions: Will + subject + be + verb-ing?

  • Will you be working on Saturday?

  • Will she be joining us for dinner?

  • What will they be doing at noon?

2. When Do We Use the Future Continuous?

A. An action happening at a specific time in the future

We use it to say what will be in progress at a particular moment.

  • At 6 p.m., I will be cooking dinner.

  • This time tomorrow, she will be flying to Istanbul.

  • They will be watching the match at 8 o’clock.

B. Two actions happening at the same time in the future

  • Sam will be cleaning the house, and Mia will be doing homework.

  • We will be driving, and the kids will be sleeping in the back.

  • The band will be rehearsing while the lights are being set up.

C. Planned or expected future events

  • Don’t call at 10 p.m. - I’ll be having a meeting.

  • The train will be arriving at platform 3 soon.

  • We’ll be starting the presentation at exactly 4 o’clock.

D. Polite questions about someone’s future plans

  • Will you be using the printer soon?

  • Will your parents be visiting this weekend?

  • Will you be staying here for a few days?

3. Time Markers

These phrases often show the Future Continuous:
